In this relational culture, trust is built patiently through consistent presence, genuine friendship, and faithful partnership with local believers.
Ministry Snapshot
GEM workers serve alongside local churches to help strengthen Gospel witness across Portugal. Current ministry includes supporting established church plants, helping develop new churches, revitalizing existing congregations, and reaching university students through evangelism and discipleship.
These efforts are taking place in Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Vila Real, and communities throughout the Alentejo. Each setting presents distinct needs, but the ministry approach remains deeply relational—working in partnership with Portuguese believers and investing patiently in people and communities.
Opportunities to Serve
Church Planting
Serve alongside local churches to strengthen existing church plants or help develop new Gospel-centered communities. Opportunities are especially present in Lisbon, Coimbra, Vila Real, and rural areas of the Alentejo.
Church Revitalization
Partner with existing congregations as they pursue renewed spiritual health, stronger discipleship, and deeper engagement with their communities. Current opportunities are found in Lisbon, Porto, and the Alentejo.
Student Ministry
Build relationships with university students through evangelism, discipleship, hospitality, and everyday life. Coimbra is a significant student center, with potential for similar ministry in other cities.
