Yet active evangelical faith remains small, with less than two percent of the population identifying as evangelical Christian. While Hungary is safe and missions friendly, meaningful ministry often requires patience, long-term relationships, and perseverance in a culture where the language is difficult to learn.

Hungary is a safe and welcoming nation with significant opportunities for ministry among students, families, and local communities. In Budapest, GEM partners with Cru in international student outreach, serving among thousands of students from around the world who study in English at Hungarian universities. GEM also supports missionary families across Europe through SHARE Education Services and the International Christian School of Budapest.
Additional ministry includes village outreach through a coffee shop and community center, where workers care for the poor, build relationships, and create space for Gospel-centered community.
