Why Kandern?
Nestled in the foothills of the Black Forest in the “sunny south” of Germany, Kandern is a small community with a surprising global reach. Home to the world-famous Black Forest Academy, Kandern has a unique collection of ministries and missionaries from across the world.
Opportunities exist to work directly with some of GEM’s Europe-Wide ministries like our technology team eDOT, one of our film crews – GEMStone Media, and our short-term missions wing – GEM Teams. In addition, you can work alongside some of our behind-the-scenes administrative and financial departments. However, the opportunities are not just internal, placements exist at local churches, volunteering with BFA in youth work and sports, and evangelistic opportunities in nearby Freiberg and Basel.
Meet the Hosts
Bob and Elena Gonzalez
Bob and Elena have been serving with Greater Europe Mission throughout Europe since 2000. Bob leads the ministry and staff of euroteam that serves national churches, church planters, missionaries, Bible schools, and camp ministries with strategic short-term mission teams. Elena is one of the supervisors that gives field leadership to the teams as well as a discipleship ministry to staff and locals. They have two daughters that attend Black Forest Academy.
