Our Story

Misha grew up in a nominal Muslim, Roma family in Serbia (former Yugoslavia). When he was 6, his brother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. A believing couple asked to pray for him. Within days, the cancer was gone, the doctors were shocked, and Misha’s family believed in Christ. His father began sharing with family and friends, radically transforming their Roma community. A small church was established, and almost 30 years later, GEM is developing a partnership with Pastor Misha and other believers in and around the city of Leskovac.

Where We Work

The Roma Community Church in Leskovac continues to have a significant impact locally, has planted nine churches, and is working on 2 additional plants. There is a need for depth, stability, and equipping. As GEM grows toward launching teams across Serbia, a 5-year plan is being developed to help strengthen the church network and its impact through: Leader Development/Coaching, Discipleship Multiplication Training, Healthy and sustainable Children’s and Youth ministry, Practical lifestyle training, Global Missions/Cross-cultural Ministry Training, etc.
