Camp of the Peaks

Below the Alpine village of La Rivoire, in a run-down house without running water, GEM’s first French youth camp was held in 1967. Young Christians from across Europe and the United States then came together to restore the 200 year-old buildings. In 1984, construction of a new building (The Big Chalet) was begun. It took 14 years of hard labor and numerous skilled American workers who came to support the regional team. Camp of the Peaks seeks to be a refuge where Europeans can recharge, be encouraged, and meet the Savior. Through a friendly environment and shared camp experiences, they enjoy fellowship, demonstrating what life can be when permeated with Biblical truth and the person of Christ.
