Our Story
Ezra and Ashlan met in college and have a heart for sharing how God has transformed their life story through His power. After serving the United States Navy Ezra grew his passion for carpentry, woodworking, and construction. Ashlan knew her calling was to become a nurse and later found her passion working with nursing students and became a nurse educator at her alma mater. We have one daughter named Eloree.
God placed a strong desire in both Ezra and Ashlan to serve in Europe to reach the lost. Ezra has a passion for the German community and culture after learning the language and visiting. Our family has been living in Kandern since July, 2025.
Where We Work
Black Forest Academy is located in Kandern, Germany providing quality education and serving families who desire strong Christian education. BFA serves many student populations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. The impact of BFA is to help keep global mobile families on the field while discipling their teen as they face the challenges of our world. The BFA student and staff population represents over 60 countries worldwide.
Ezra is the lead supervisor of the maintenance and facilities department and Ashlan volunteers in the nursing office and serves as a student mentor. Together our family serves the residential life program by serving at an all-girls dorm to support the daily needs of the students and staff. Additionally, we attend a local German church and co-lead a small group. Our family desires to create lifelong relationships in the German community and beyond that point others to Christ.
