Our Story
David and Majka met in Bratislava, Slovakia in the fall of 1999 through a campus outreach. Several months earlier, David had moved to Bratislava to help pioneer a sports ministry alongside a Slovak friend. After serving twelve years in the ministry, he handed the leadership over to a national.
Majka grew up in Slovakia during the difficult years of communism. A strong influence on her faith was watching her grandparents courageously smuggle Christian literature, open their home to family and friends, and show Christ's love through simple acts of hospitality and kindness. She believes those formative years laid the foundation for the calling she now shares with David.
Where We Will Work
David and Majka will serve in Bratislava, Slovakia, in the Devínska Nová Ves community, a neighborhood of the capital city. Their prayer is that friends and neighbors in this community will feel welcomed and invited into a Christ-centered fellowship. As relationships deepen and lives are transformed by the Gospel, they hope to see a vibrant community of faith take root and flourish.
In addition to their local ministry, David provides oversight for Greater Europe Mission's Czech and Slovak fields, offering leadership, development, and care to the missionaries serving throughout these two countries.
