Spiritual Climate
Poland is deeply shaped by Catholic identity, with evangelical believers representing less than two percent of the population. The spiritual ground can be hard, as the cultural pull of Catholicism remains strong while materialism and consumerism offer an alternative vision of security and success. The arrival of Ukrainian refugees has brought some evangelical growth, but Gospel witness still requires patience, trust, and faithful discipleship.
Ministry Snapshot
Poland is an ethnically homogenous nation with a growing economy, improving infrastructure, strong public transportation, and a mid-range cost of living for European cities. Americans are generally received positively, creating opportunities for relational ministry and partnership.
GEM’s closest ministry networks are with the Baptist Union and the Churches of Christ. In a country where evangelical witness remains small, ministry efforts focus on evangelism, discipleship, and building relationships that may eventually lead toward church planting. Outreach can include English conversation events, internet evangelism, youth ministry, and partnership with local believers.
