My Story
I first heard about GEM about three years ago in a class at my college. I was immediately interested and felt drawn to the heart behind the mission. At the time, though, the idea of being away from home for so long felt overwhelming, so I decided not to pursue it.
Even so, the thought of GEM never really left me. Over the past few years, I’ve felt God quietly bringing it back to my heart, reminding me that following Him isn’t always comfortable or easy. I began to realize that my hesitation came more from fear than from a lack of calling.
Now, I’ve decided to trust God and follow where He is leading me. Choosing GEM means moving beyond my comfort zone and believing that He has a purpose in this next step, even when it feels uncertain. I am excited to serve this upcoming summer in Europe, and am so grateful for the opportunities God is giving me!
Where I Work
Although Europe is often seen as historically Christian, many regions today are deeply secularized, with generations growing up disconnected from the gospel and the life of the Church. Faith has become cultural or nominal for many, rather than a living relationship with Christ, and churches in some areas are shrinking or closing altogether.
Europe needs missionaries who can lovingly reintroduce the hope, truth, and purpose found in the gospel—through authentic relationships, humble service, and faithful presence. Missionaries are not coming to impose something new, but to walk alongside people, meet spiritual hunger with compassion, and help renew communities by pointing them back to the transforming love of Christ.
