My Story
Over the past few years, I have been blessed to serve in youth ministry at my local church. During this time, the Lord has given me a heart for the younger generation and a desire to see them know Him personally. As I approach the end of my college career, I have felt the Lord inviting me to pause from the busyness of school and work and to be more intentional about partnering with him in ministry for the summer.
I was led to Europe because I sensed a call to step outside of what is familiar and to serve the global Church, trusting that God is at work far beyond my own context. What drives my mission is the conviction that Jesus transforms lives, and that simply showing up and loving people well can have an eternal impact.
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
Where I Work
This summer I’ll be serving in northern Birmingham, England, in a neighborhood called Erdington, with Urban Devotion Birmingham. Erdington is a diverse and vibrant community where people from all walks of life live and work.
Urban Devotion Birmingham is rooted in this area because they are confident that God deeply loves the community and desires to be known there. The heart of their work is faithful presence. They focus on building long-term relationships, walking alongside youth and families, and creating spaces where faith can be explored and the love of Jesus can be experienced in practical ways.
This summer, I will be supporting that mission by serving alongside the Urban Devotion team, aiming to reflect Christ’s heart for the community and invite people into life found in Him.
Prayer notes as the summer approaches:
- That the Lord will prepare me to be able to serve with endurance, joy, and in a way that God’s love will be clearly shown.
- For open and softened hearts among the youth I will be serving in Erdington.
