Since we were married in December of 1988, we have wanted to serve on the mission field. Life happened, however, and we had three beautiful daughters, Sarah, Lisa and Kellie, and adopted three wonderful kids, Dustin, Dylan and Drew. We waited patiently while Jim finished his masters in Psychology and Neva taught elementary school. Finally, in the summer of 2004 God opened up the opportunity for us to serve in Member Care at GEM’s International Headquarters in Colorado.Jim screens applicants and conducts psych evaluations for potential missionaries. He is also in charge of the debrief and renewal weeks that missionaries attend while on furlough. Neva is in charge of the children’s program for the summer debrief and renewal week and for Annual Conference. Together they are being trained to become TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) team leaders.Now, as the kids are getting older, they are becoming more involved in the ministry. They love to hang out with the missionary kids when they come in for debrief and renewal weeks. In fact, Sarah, Lisa, Kellie and Drew are all going to help out with Annual Conference this year.Our ministry truly has become a family ministry.
