Serving through Education and Community Development
We are educators of the Deaf in North Africa, called to serve long-term to bring the hope of the Gospel to the Deaf and hearing peoples of the country where we live. We work with local Deaf schools and non-profits, focusing on community development and teacher training. Through authentic relationships and providing a much-needed service to the Deaf, we strive to show God’s love and mercy and lead others to Him.
Where We Work
The country where we serve has a population that is 99% Muslim. It is illegal for nationals to be a follower of Christ and consequently meet together secretly in house churches. In this country it is estimated that only 1 person out of every 15,000 knows Jesus.
The country itself is a fascinating place, rich in history, culture and a blend of both ancient traditions and modern conveniences. The people are kind and hospitable; they highly value family and relationships.
The vast majority of these people have never heard the Gospel in a culturally relevant way, have never met a follower of Jesus and have never seen a Bible.
