My Story

Why Spain? Although Spain is known as a predominantly Catholic country, Catholicism is seen more as a cultural identity instead of a personal faith. Less than 2% of the population is Protestant Evangelical and the Church is small and under resourced. My hope is to support the existing ministries of the local congregation I belong to, and lead initiatives that have been lacking.
Where am I? I serve in Granada, Spain – a diverse city with many immigrants from Latin America and north Africa. With the fourth largest university in Spain, Granada is home to many students from all over Europe. In fact, 29% of Granada’s population is under 29 years of age. One of the saddest realities I’ve witnessed is the prevalence of smoking and sexual activity among preteens.
What am I doing? I serve under and alongside a local congregation. At church, I serve in the welcome ministry as well as the young adults and children’s ministries. I co-lead an adolescents’ group, teaching them God’s Word through bible studies and discipling them in how to be a light for Christ in their schools and within their groups of friends. I also serve with Existe+Mundo, a grassroots social collective, that connects the local Church with ministry opportunities to serve Granada’s homeless and trafficked communities—a heartbreaking and prominent issue in the city. Existe+Mundo’s mission is to share the good news of the Gospel and demonstrate Christ’s love for all people. We do this by distributing food and basic necessities to Granada’s homeless and trafficked communities on a weekly basis.
Why me? I am not the most equipped or qualified “missionary”, but I believe God equips those He calls, and He called me! My love for people and sociability helps me meet and grow with people easily. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to also use my heart for the marginalized as I serve with Existe+Mundo.
Will you join me? As God continues to provide opportunities and equip me to serve in Granada, I ask that you prayerfully consider joining me in His ministry. You can be a part of this mission to transform lives in Spain by uplifting me in prayer and giving financially. This work would not be possible without prayer warriors and the support of generous partners like you. Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel and for joining me in the incredible work God is doing in Spain!
Not my will, but His be done,
