Chuck Stair, Chairman

Karen Langstraat
Karen serves on the National Board of Directors for Stonecroft Ministries and as a regional administrator for the organization. She also manages a music studio and is active in church and community ministry.
Karen and her husband Phil support a GEM missionary family, and this has given them a great appreciation for GEM.

Rev. J. Howard Moore
Howard and his wife Caron have been part of the GEM family since 1984, serving 18 years in France. He is involved in his home church as a member of the missions committee, and he teaches training courses.
He was attracted to GEM because of its commitment to working with European believers in evangelizing Europe.

Dr. Robert Bugh
Rob is the senior pastor of Wheaton Bible Church, where he has ministered for over 14 years. In addition to serving on the GEM Board since 2004, Rob is on the advisory board of the Billy Graham Center for World Evangelism at Wheaton College and Rebuilding Romania Ministries.
Rob was attracted to GEM through the GEM missionaries whom his church supports and through his own missionary travel.

James R. Huse
Jim is cofounder of Cornerstone Affiliates, LLC and serves on the Advisory Board for Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is an adjunct professor at Eastern Nazarene College. Jim enjoys providing professional services in leadership training and development, organizational development, and coaching and mentoring. He joined the GEM Board in November 2006.

Dr. Jerry White
Jerry and his wife Mary have been affiliated with The Navigators since their college days. Jerry served as the international president of The Navigators for more than 18 years and is now president emeritus and chairman of the U.S. board of directors. Jerry serves as chairman of the board of the Christian Management Association and the Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization Global CEO Working Group. He is a member of several other boards as well, and he joined the GEM Board in 2005.
Jerry’s interest in GEM grew out of his desire to advance the Gospel.

Rachael Crabb
Rachael is director of NewWay Ministries. She also serves on Advisory Boards for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) International and Ministry Essentials. She and her husband Larry enjoy regularly hosting missionaries in transition and missionaries in training. Rachael is an author and speaker for retreats and conferences. She joined the GEM Board in November 2006.

William F. White
Bill has served on the GEM International Board since 2001 and on the GEM Canada Board since 1992. He has been chairman of the GEM Canada Board since 2001. Bill owns IBK Capital Corp. and is an investment banker. He is also chairman of the board for Barry Moore Ministries, Inc. in Toronto, Canada.
He was attracted to GEM through his friendship with two former members of the GEM Canada Board.

David Laube (retired)
Dave is Executive-in-Residence at the University of Colorado, Denver School of Business. He serves on several corporate boards and does consulting in information technology and telecommunications. He also serves on advisory boards for the Schools of Business at University of Colorado, Denver, and Seattle Pacific University, and is on the board of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He is the board chairman for VisionQuest Alliance.
Dave joined the GEM Board in 2000. GEM’s reputation and the quality of the Board and missionaries attracted him to the organization.

Kenneth Kovalik
Ken is president of Friends and Family Enterprises, co-founder of Cornerstone Affiliates, and President of K&A Development Corporation. He joined the GEM board in 2004.
He became interested in GEM as a result of his friendship with GEM missionaries whom his church supports. Ken and his wife Ann believe that God has called them to support missionaries throughout the world.

Henry L. Deneen (President)
Henry became GEM's president in September 2007. He is an experienced trial attorney, municipal judge, and served as chief legal counsel for Gov. David M. Beasley (South Carolina). He and his family lived in France to focus on a closed country in North Africa as a strategy leader—connecting professionals in the west with national leaders in isolated countries. After moving back to South Carolina, he led a broader effort to focus on developmental initiatives in Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Turkmenistan, Myanmar, and Vietnam as executive director of the Center for Global Strategies, Ltd., now based in Colorado Springs.

Charles W. Stair (Chairman)
Chuck retired in 2003 as vice chairman of ServiceMaster and has served on the GEM Board for 14 years, 12 of those years as chairman. Chuck is also chairman of two other boards: Tyndale House Publishers and Wheaton Bible Church (elder board).
Chuck and his wife Pat support several missionaries and served on a short-term mission with Pat’s parents at the Italian Bible Institute. They were deeply impacted when they saw firsthand what God was doing through GEM.

Lucian Sezonov (retired)
Lu retired from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1994; he continues to operate his own business and trade from his home office. Lu has served on the GEM Board since 1994 and is involved in many leadership positions in his church.
Lu sees his service with GEM as a natural extension of his vision for Eastern Europe.

Mike Brenan
Mike is the President of BB&T of South Carolina. He has served on numerous business and civic Boards of Trustees / Directors and joined the GEM Board in November of 2009.

Larry Cox
After graduating from Mississippi College, Larry Cox received a master's degree in education from Southern Baptist Seminary, a master's in agriculture from Mississippi State University and a PhD in university administration from the University of Mississippi. He is married to Cheryl Keathley Cox and they have four children-two living with their families overseas and two living in the USA. For six years Larry served as a college administrator.
Larry and Cheryl served with the International Mission Board for 23 years living in six different countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He led missionaries in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and Northern Africa. For the first 12 years overseas, he was an agriculturist in West Africa. Presently, the Coxes live in Rome, Georgia, and Larry serves as senior director of WinShape Foundation.

Nathan Hancock
Nathan Founded Hancock Int'l Corp in 1994 (International Transportation & Logistics Intermediary). He served as Chairman, CareNet, a Crisis Pregnancy Center, of DuPage (county, Illinois) from 2006-2009.
Chairman, CultureCampaign, a small web-based non-profit educating Christians and encouraging them to a higher level of cultural and political involvement in their communities from an explicitly Christian point of view. Nathan joined the GEM Board in November of 2009.

Paul is Executive Vice President / CFO for Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. Paul and Shirley were college classmates and have two married sons. Paul previously served on the GEM Board for nine years and rejoined the Board in 2009.
