Relationships

God has always worked through relationships: Jesus developed intimate connections with the 12 disciples; the apostle Paul formed relationships as he spread the Gospel. Interactions with other people are an integral part of the Christian experience.

Your impact as a missionary will also happen primarily through relationships you develop with neighbors, vendors, and people you meet at the corner café. GEM desires that all workers, regardless of the roles they play, develop 40 to 60 relationships and seek to bring Christ into those interactions. Obviously you won't be able to have individual Bible studies with that many people, but you can see your daily encounters as opportunities to help people experience the Gospel.

On average, native Europeans and immigrants need to have multiple believers share Christ and demonstrate God’s love over a period of five to seven years before they accept Jesus. You can play a vital role in many people’s journey to Christ just by offering the powerful gift of a relationship.
